The Adventure so Far

In 2014, after several years of working with incredible photographers and photography studios learning and perfecting my craft, I decided to take a leap and start a new adventure…Flux Photographic was born!

Full of excitement to finally start my own company, I made a business plan, hired a commercial space and set up a studio. I was on my way, ready to roll and getting a steady stream of customers through the door from the very beginning.

This was it, I was going to finally get to use my skills to challenge perceptions, give back and grow my little business into an empire whilst making a difference along the way…..

…..or so I thought

Exactly a year after opening my studio, my landlord sold the building and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it! I was heartbroken, I had spent a year pouring everything I had into my beautiful studio and, just like that, it was gone. I’m a great believer in things happening for a reason but, at the time, I really didn’t understand what the reason could possibly be for this.

I didn’t know what to do so I decided to take part-time admin job and work freelance whilst I re-assessed my plan moving forwards. The team I worked with in the office were just incredible and going to work was an absolute blast. We had team xmas do’s, office in jokes and even a weekly biscuit run. I’d never worked in a non-creative job before and I enjoyed every moment of this experience.

After two years of working part-time and freelancing I woke up one day with these words from my friend Len Dance ringing through my head:

“There are no problems, only challenges!”

…and then it hit me.

My Why, I started Flux Photographic to make a difference, so why on earth had I let one small challenge get in the way of pursuing something I loved? It was time to get back to doing what I did best!

The reason I chose the name Flux for my company is because one of the definitions is “a state of constant change” - Something we are doing all of the time and something that reminded me, there are no limits on how much you can change and learn.

Since the day I quit my part-time job, even though I miss the team, I haven’t looked back!

I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful clients and create the perfect images for personal branding, campaigns to raise awareness and challenge perceptions, providing body-positive workshops for young people and teaching photography skills.

I even launched a whole movement, The Beautiful You Movement, which focuses on kindness, mindfulness and acceptance!

Here’s what some of my customers think about what I do:

What can I say about the wonderful Victoria at Flux Photographic? I wanted a pinup shoot that incorporated my mobility cane for a ‘changing perceptions’ campaign. Having done a shoot with her before, I knew she’d be perfect for what I wanted and she was! She had so many fab ideas at the shoot and I’m so proud of the photos. Thank you so much.  Lizzie, All Together Now Judge

Victoria is a fantastic photographer. The prints are spectacular as you can see from this picture. She made me feel totally relaxed, tried all my crazy ideas and implemented them making them look amazing and the shoot was so much fun. She sent my private gallery link very quickly and I can’t explain how happy I am with the chosen shots. This is the second time i’ve worked with Victoria and I highly recommend her. Kay, Actress

Victoria came into my dance school to take some advertising shots for me, we love the photos, they’re exactly what we wanted. Victoria is professional and great to work with, easy to talk to, definitely recommend! Anna Rose, Dance School Owner

If you’ve read this far then thank you! I love a quote or two so i’ll leave you with this…

“Fate whispers to the warrior, ‘You can not withstand the storm.’ The warrior whispers back, ‘I am the storm’.”
